Workshop Wrench
Live+Live + mock hybrid

Product · Owner intelligence

A modular owner dashboard that admits what is live vs mock.

Workshop Wrench ships a widget canvas owners can reshape: KPI tiles, charts, attention lists, and role templates. Core shop health numbers roll up from the board and money path. Trend series carry an explicit source — live, mock, or hybrid — so we never dress warehouse aspirations as Connected BI.

Ship honesty: KPI summary widgets and the attention list are live against tenant data in the demo. Modular layout + Recharts surfaces ship today; many chart series still fill residual gaps with mock or hybrid data and label the source. Integrations and stubs are never marketed as Connected.

Modular canvas

Dashboard story: templates, widgets, attention

Built as a composable owner surface — not a fixed report PDF. Role defaults get you productive; the catalog lets each shop rearrange for its week.

Role templates

Owner command centre, tech bay view, advisor front desk, and finance-focused layouts — start from a template, then rearrange.

Widget catalog

Open jobs, ARO, deferred $, AR, board mix, tech efficiency, deferred-by-area, and attention lists from a shared domain catalog.

Resize & reorder

Drag-and-drop canvas with size hints so the Monday meeting surface matches how your shop actually runs.

Attention → action

Blocked ROs and high-priority jobs sit next to the metric that made them visible — not a vanity chart alone.

Live + mock hybrid

What is live, partial, or still roadmap

Series and widgets report maturity with status labels. Integrations and incomplete charts never use Connected for stubs or mock fills.

Owner KPI summary

Live

Open jobs, awaiting auth/parts, ready, AR, revenue MTD, ARO, deferred opportunity — tenant-scoped from live board and invoice state.

Needs-attention list

Live

Jobs that need a human decision, derived from board stage and urgency — bridges metric to RO.

Modular layout canvas

Live+

Widget catalog, role templates, and layout editing in the app. Server-persisted layouts deepen as W5 ships; offline/local fallback remains honest.

Chart & trend series

Partial

Named series (revenue, board mix, efficiency, deferred area, …) return source: live | mock | hybrid. UI can badge maturity — we do not pretend full warehouse BI.

Documented KPI formulas

Live

ARO, car count, efficiency-style metrics live in @wrench/domain — marketing and product share the same language.

External BI / warehouse export

Roadmap

Metabase-class warehouse and long-horizon fact tables are out of band — not claimed as Connected today.

Trust the number

KPI formulas owners can defend

Thin-margin shops die on unbilled labour, weak ARO, and invisible deferred work. Metrics map to how you run the floor.

  • ARO

Average repair order — typically sales ÷ car count. We document the definition used in product rather than a black-box score.

  • Deferred $

Open declined or deferred estimate value still recoverable — so “no” work is not forgotten sticky notes.

  • Board mix

Open jobs by stage (inspection, awaiting auth, waiting parts, ready) so throughput bottlenecks are visible.

  • Labour efficiency path

Deepens as job-linked timers are used — Partial until clock adoption makes the series trustworthy.

FAQ

Questions buyers actually ask

Structured for humans and search. We update when ship status changes.

Is the analytics dashboard fully live?+

Core KPI summary tiles and attention lists are live from tenant data. Chart series are a live + mock hybrid: each series can report source live, mock, or hybrid. We label maturity instead of claiming Connected warehouse analytics.

What is ARO?+

Average repair order — typically sales divided by car count. Definitions vary slightly by shop; Workshop Wrench documents the formula in domain theory so owners can defend the number in a Monday meeting.

Can I customise widgets by role?+

Yes — start from owner, tech, advisor, or finance templates, then add, remove, resize, and reorder widgets. Multi-device server layouts continue to harden in the analytics wave.

Do you market stubs as Connected?+

No. Integrations and incomplete series use Live, Live+, Partial, Stub, Dry-run, Planned, or Roadmap — never Connected for stubs or mock fills.
